ROP is a joint partnership with business, industry, local high schools, community colleges and school districts, as well as the Merced Office of Education to provide high school students and adults with career preparation and training opportunities. Merced County ROP delivers innovative educational programs to high school and adult students in preparation for 21st century careers, higher education, and life-long learning.


ROP training develops marketable job skills, abilities, attitudes, and work habits so that students may:

  • Develop academic, technical, and interpersonal skills
  • Secure employment
  • Upgrade skills
  • Enter advanced career-technical training
  • Pursue college related courses

All ROP courses strive to assist students in developing General Workplace Skills related to a particular career area so they can become:
