Ellen Foster

Biography:

Ms. Ellen Foster is the Career Educator for the Adult ROP programs. She teaches a Foundation Skills class, a weekly Career Exploration Workshop at the local One-Stop and also teaches an Interior Design night class.

Ms. Foster graduated from Merced High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design at California State University of Fresno, Cum Laude. She received her Vocational Education Credential from California State University of Sacramento. Her professional background is varied. She was in Banking for over 10 years – her final position with Bank of America was AVP & Branch Manager of Operations, she owned her own dress shop and has worked in the Interior Design industry for several years. While attending CSUF, she found she enjoyed the education work environment and came to work for MCOE in 1998.

Ms. Foster has been a member of various Art affiliated associations over the years and is currently a member of the Central Counties Chapter Association of Regional Occupational Centers/Programs (CCCAROC/P). She resides in Merced and enjoys her time with family and friends. Some of her favorite things are: dancing, singing, antiquing, going to Art Museums and traveling. She just finished a Tango and Waltz class at Merced College and made her first trip to Europe this summer!

Mission:

My professional goal is to promote the Adult Vocational Training Programs so individuals have the opportunity to reach their vocational goals. To provide open communications to local agencies that refer students to our programs. To be an active partner of the local One-Stop to help deliver a skilled, competitive workforce that ensures a diverse and prosperous local economy. To provide One-Stop clients the tools to research and discover their professional goals and help them develop the skills to be successful in attaining those goals.
